Second-quarter earnings for the retail sector as a whole are forecast to be lower than the prior month, despite easy year-on-year comparisons. Express raised its full-year outlook after its profit increased more than threefold, DSW said it remains confident in its direction after earnings grew, and Foot Locker had an "outstanding" quarter with sales, earnings and margins all up. However, Chico's reported a 93% profit decline.
