US Q2 in brief: Chico's, DSW, The Children's Place, Foot Locker

Second-quarter earnings for the retail sector as a whole are forecast to be lower than the prior month, despite easy year-on-year comparisons. Chico's reported a 93% decline in profit, DSW said it remains confident in its direction after earnings grew, Foot Locker had an "outstanding" quarter with sales, earnings and margins all up, while The Children's Place saw its net loss widen as sales fell.
