Second-quarter earnings for the retail sector as a whole are forecast to be lower than the prior month, despite easy year-on-year comparisons. J Crew moved to a loss in its latest quarter, while Bebe Stores improved its net loss and announced a licensing deal for China. Aeropostale booked a net loss for the eleventh straight quarter, and Destination XL delivered what it said was an "outstanding" quarte. rDollar General posted increases in earnings and sales, including apparel, Burlington Stores has raised its full-year guidance after returning to profit, and PVH Corp revealed results that beat its expectations, upping its full-year guidance.
