US Q2 in brief: The Children's Place, Foot Locker, Hibbett Sports

Second-quarter earnings for the retail sector as a whole are forecast to be lower than the prior month, despite easy year-on-year comparisons. The Children's Place saw its net loss widen as sales fell, Hibbett Sports lowered its full-year guidance on lower sales, while Foot Locker had an "outstanding" quarter with sales, earnings and margins all up.
