US Q4 in brief: Dick's Sporting Goods, Urban Outfitters, Burlington Stores

In the most recent fourth-quarter filings from US apparel brands and retailers, L Brands, Skechers and Columbia Sportswear published record sales growth and higher earnings, while Urban outfitters saw a decline in earnings and flat sales. Kate Spade & Co and Dick's Sporting goods both posted mixed performances, while Ross Stores posted better-than-expected results, and both Burlington Stores and American Eagle Outfitters saw their net income increase. Kohl's revealed it will close 18 stores after reporting a 20% decline in profit, and both Crocs and JC Penney saw their losses widen.
