US Q4 in brief: Foot Locker, JC Penney, Kohl's, Carter's, Chico's, Sears

In the most recent fourth-quarter filings from US apparel brands and retailers, L Brands, Skechers and Columbia Sportswear published record sales growth and higher earnings, while Macy's saw sales trends improve, despite what it says was a "challenging year". Chico's and Rocky Brands expressed disappointment with their performance, while Carter's exceeded its sales and earnings targets. Kohl's said it will close 18 stores after reporting a 20% decline in profit, and JC Penney saw its loss widen.
