BusinessGreen: US energy-related carbon emissions dropped 3.8 per cent in 2012 to 5.29 billion metric tons last year, reaching their lowest level since 1994.
An Energy Information Administration (EIA) report published yesterday also confirms energy consumption fell by 2.4 per cent last year even as the US continued its economic recovery with GDP growing by 2.8 per cent. The improvement in energy efficiency meant that energy use per dollar of GDP, or energy intensity, fell 5.1 per cent.
