By using Android Open Accessory protocol to make Android device recognize onboard USB port as RS-232 port, ANDROID-232 lets users control legacy RS-232 devices directly from Android devices and vice-versa. This industrial- and military-grade, 2-way data port supports serial data rate up to 921.6 kbps (max of 115.2 kbps without flow control), and onboard circuitry provides power to charge Android device while connected. USB serial interface board is rated for -40 to +85°C operation.
