USIS cuts more than 2,500 jobs after losing contracts

The Falls Church contractor that suffered a cyberattack in August and subsequently lost its contracts with the Office of Personnel Management has laid off more than 2,500 employees. USIS, which performs the bulk of background checks for federal security clearances, said in a statement Tuesday that the loss of two contracts with OPM led to the job cuts.
