Operating independently of color and surface finish, Ultrasonic Sensors are suitable for distance measurement or position detection of granules, fluids, and powders. Units are available as switching or analog versions, and all analog models are available with voltage or current output from 0–10 V or 4–20 mA. Because distance to object is determined via sound transit time, ultrasonic sensors have optimized background suppression, and are unaffected by dust, dirt, and steam.
