Union threatens strike action against Alcatel-Lucent, NBN

Workers at Alcatel-Lucent Australia, which is one of the national broadband network's biggest equipment suppliers, are threatening to go on strike and disrupt the $56 billion project in an effort to get better pay and working conditions. Alcatel-Lucent, the French technology giant, has a contract worth up to $1.5 billion to supply the crucial node cabinets to NBN.
