BusinessGreen: A 230m offshore wind farm that was vehemently opposed by US tycoon Donald Trump has today been given the green light by the Scottish Government.
The European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre in Aberdeen Bay is expected to generate up to 100MW and allow developers to test the latest technology ahead of commercial deployment.
The project is owned by Vattenfall and Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group and is part-funded by a EUR40m grant from the European Union's Economic Recovery Programme.
