Guardian: Ed Davey, the Lib Dem energy and climate change secretary, announced the contract for the new nuclear power station Hinkley Point C on Monday. You had to feel sorry for him. Caught between the anti-nuclear brigade (of which he was once a prominent member), the climate change fanatics and the Labour party, which is trying to make as much capital out of energy prices as it can, he was reduced to barking angrily. Also it must be pretty rough being a Lib Dem. The party is beginning to look like one...
