BusinessGreen: A flurry of reports have emerged over the past two days suggesting the government is close to finalising a subsidy deal with EDF that should allow the French energy giant to move forward with plans for a new nuclear power plant at Hinkley Point in Somerset.
Both the government and EDF declined to comment on the reports, but citing sources close to the negotiations the Independent on Sunday said that an agreement had been reached to subsidise the power plant for 35 years.
