United Kingdom: Windy winter delivers power record for world's largest offshore wind farm

BusinessGreen: High winds and stormy weather over the winter months helped the London Array, located off the Kent coast, power around 325,000 homes, according to new figures released by the wind farm operators. London Array, a consortium between E.ON, Dong Energy and Masdar, yesterday confirmed that in the six months to the end of March 2014, the turbines produced 1.5TWh of electricity. In total, the 175 turbines recorded an availability of just over 96 per cent, and coupled with the "near perfect" wind conditions...
