United Airlines is in talks with Embraer SA and Bombardier Inc. to buy new narrow-body planes as part of an effort to reduce reliance on unprofitable regional jets, people familiar with the matter said. The discussions involve the largest models in Embraer's updated E-Jets family and Bombardier's smallest CSeries, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details are private.
