UnitedHealth Group Inc. said Monday morning that it planned to buy Catamaran Corp., a big manager of prescription drug benefits, seeking to add scale as medication costs climb. The Minnetonka-based insurer will merge Catamaran, the nation's fourth-largest pharmacy benefits manager, with its OptumRx unit .
