Verizon Q3 earnings up on cost cutting, modest revenue growth

(Telecompaper) Verizon reported a strong increase in third-quarter earnings, as cost-cutting efforts and solid handset sales helped offset only modest growth in wireless service revenue and a continued fall in wireline revenues. The company maintained its full-year outlook for a small increase in revenues and adjusted EPS and said it's on track to achieve its target of USD 10 billion in cost savings by 2021.
