Virgin Media COO to become transformation chief at Liberty

(Telecompaper) Liberty Global has named Dana Strong to the new role of Chief Transformation Officer and senior VP at the cable group. Strong comes from Liberty Global's UK subsidiairy Virgin Media, where she is chief operating officer. She also served previously as CEO of UPC Ireland and COO of Austar in Australia. She will take up the new position and a position on the executive management committee from 01 February. Strong will report to CEO Mike Fries and work with him on strategic and operational opportunities to help shape the group for the coming years. Virgin Media said it would announce her replacement in the coming weeks.
