Vodafone Germany starts VoLTE, to show 5G progress at CeBIT

2015-03-16 09:45:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Germany launched its Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services as the CeBIT trade fair in Hanover was about to open. It is the first operator in the country to bring out this service. The service should initiate the call within two seconds and provide clear sound quality calls. Vodafone's 4G network now covers 40 percent of the country. The VoLTE system takes up less space at base stations and requires less cooling and as much as 30 percent less power. Also at CeBIT, Vodafone and its academic chair for mobile communications systems will provide information about 5G developments.
