(Telecompaper) Vodafone, Telefonica, Orange and TIM Brasil have partnered to develop a disaggregated cell site gateway, as part of the Telecom Infra Project (TIP). A spin-off of the earlier TIP Voyager project, the four operators have worked together to define their technical needs for 5G cell site routers, and with the initial two partners, Adva Optical Networking and Edgecore Networks, will produce the Odyssey-DCSG as the first implementation of the technology. The gateway should be available in Q3 2019, the vendors said.
