Voters also gave their blessing to the purchase of new buses, 857 to 593, and assented to the establishment of a new capital reserve fund, 965 to 485. The budget passed despite low voter turnout - 1,453 out of 16,127 registered voters in the district, or a scant 9 percent of those eligible to pull the lever.
