Western Digital, Toshiba announce first 512Gbit 64-layer TLC 3D-NAND

Toshiba and Western Digital have jointly announced that they intend to commercialize 512Gb 3D NAND with 64-layer stacks by the second half of this year. NAND prices per GB could be headed for a significant reduction if both WD and Samsung can get new 64-layer chips into full production.
