Things were not looking very good for Mazda in the US market getting trounced by Asian competitors in small to midsize cars, and more recently by the Detroit 3. Thats starting to turn Mazda North American Operations reported its best August sales in 10 years at 28,106 units sold 26.4% over last year. Skyactiv technology seems to be the secret behind its new-found success. New vehicles equipped with Skyactiv accounted for 74.8% of all Mazdas sold in August, and the company is increasing production of Skyactiv engines and transmissions to meet demand. Mazda CX-5 crossover with Skyactiv saw 82.3% sales increase year-over-year. So whats behind this sales surge?
