The company is going to need some of that more than $6.5 billion it has invested in acquisitions since the beginning of 2015 to bear fruit if it hopes to outperform any time soon. Memphis-based FedEx blamed weaker freight services demand and higher-than-expected self-insurance set-asides for its two cent per share earnings miss.
