Why I Don't Care About No Stinkin' Oil Rig Counts

Now that "tight" or shale oil has become such an important part of the American oil industry, the meaning of oil rig counts has changed from the past, primarily because of the ability close or ramp up production very quickly, or to bring new wells on line fast. For that reason I don't pay much attention to how many rigs are in operation, neither do I care as much about oil inventory.
