Seattle Post-Intelligencer: When soaring costs of nuclear plants threatened to melt down the Northwest's economy, as the Bonneville Power Administration-utility axis dug in its heels, irascible Oregon Rep. Jim Weaver was asked how he'd halt the march of folly.
"Raise hell!" replied Weaver.
He did. A young House aide to Weaver named Mike McGinn was on hand as witness. "There's a bunch of Weaver in me," McGinn is fond of joking.
