WileyFox launches with new Cyanogen smartphones

(Telecompaper) A new maker of smartphones running the Android alternative OS from Cyanogen has launched in London. The company WileyFox is starting out with two smartphones, the Swift and the Storm, which are expected to start shipping from next month. WileyFox promises "unrivalled customisation" thanks to the Cyanogen 12.1 OS and the ability to change even the pre-installed apps on the phone and "unrivalled privacy and security" with features such as PIN codes for individual apps, the Truecaller Integrated Dialler and extensive data-sharing options. In addition, the company offers a three-year guarantee on the phones for an extra GBP 10 and will have call centres available 24-7 for technical and after-sales support. The Wileyfox Swift smartphone is a dual-Sim LTE device with 5-inch HD IPS screen with Gorilla Glass 3, selling for GBP 129. It runs the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM and comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with Sony sensors, 5 megapixel front camera, microSD card slot up to 32 GB and removable 2,500 mAh battery. The WileyFox Storm for GBP 199 offers a faster processor with the Snapdragon 615, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM, 20 megapixel back camera and 8 megapixel front camera, microSD support up to 128 GB and a bigger 5.5-inch display. It also supports LTE (Cat 4 up to 150 Mbps) and dual Sims and comes with a removable 2,500 mAh battery.
