Earlier this month, the U.S. government confirmed duties on steel imports after it determined the products were sold too cheaply in the U.S. AK Steel originally brought the complaint to the government. The U.S. Department of Commerce said it would impose duties on imports of non-oriented electrical steel, which is used in generators, motors, and transformers, from China, Japan, Germany, Sweden, South Korea, and Taiwan.
