Winds cause problems throughout region

Power was out already to thousands of PGE customers by 4 p.m. on Thursday afternoon as meteorologists warned locals to batten down the hatches. Other problems included the closure of Northwest Newberry Road between Highway 30 and Northwest Skyline Boulevard because of downed power lines and trees.
