Officials with Republic Services, owner of the Wintersburg site in Huntington Beach, have told local preservationists that they will postpone demolition of the historical buildings there while a study of how to preserve them is conducted. Mary Urashima, chairwoman of the Historic Wintersburg Preservation Task Force, said Ronald Krall, Los Angeles-area president for Republic, confirmed March 4 that the company will delay demolition of the six buildings that were part of the first Japanese Presbyterian church in Orange County.
