With heat on, NV Energy employs 'peakers' to help keep us cool

Peakers at the Clark Generating Station in Henderson were installed in 2009 at a cost of $400 million to help the plant deal with power fluctuations, ranging from heavy use in the summer to random weather conditions affecting solar- and wind-energy gathering.
