Women have small presence on boards of Jacksonville companies

Women hold just 9.7 percent of seats on the boards of directors of publicly-traded Jacksonville companies, according to SEC filings and the companies' websites. That's about half the national average of 19.2 percent, according to a 2014 study by Catalyst, a nonprofit that studies gender equality and looked at companies on the S&P 500 stock index.
