The project involves 10 million tonnes a year of LNG production capacity, storage tanks and jetties and would be located about 140 kilometres east of Houston at a site that already has approval as an LNG import plant. Woodside Petroleum is considering partnering with US player Sempra Energy in a new liquefied natural gas export terminal in Texas in what would be a major step up in its commitment to the US gas export sector.
