Deputy Chief Steven Manchino from the West Springfield Fire Department told 22News, "Over the course of the night, we had to allocate equipment from upstate New York through Buffalo, so they didn't get here until about 2:30 in the morning." CSX Transportation spokeswoman Kristin Seay told 22News the train had been traveling from Selkirk, New York to West Springfield when it derailed in the area of the Day Street rail yard.
