Horizontal beam X-ray system, Xpert S400, detects metal, glass, dense plastics, and other foreign objects in vertically-oriented containers. Uses also include revealing fill level and exposing if package is dented or has missing closure. X-ray source/detector height adjusts to match conveyor passing through inspection tunnel, and algorithms look for contaminants in problem areas.
