(Telecompaper) Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has unveiled its first tablet. The Xiaomi Mi Pad features a 7.9-inch screen with Wi-Fi connectivity and a Nvidia quad-core Tegra K1 processor, Cnet reports. Its design resembles the iPad mini, but with a glossy plastic casing. The tablet comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB or 64GB of internal storage, plus a microSD card slot. It runs a new version of Xiaomi's MI user interface, a customised version of Android 4.4. The Mi Pad also features an 8 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front camera, as well as a 6,700 mAh battery. Xiaomi is releasing it initially in beta in China in June, so a first group of users can test out the device. The tablet is priced at CNY 1,499 for the 16 GB version and CNY 1,699 for the 64 GB version.
