An image taken Thursday from a video released by the Nigerian Islamist extremist group Boko Haram and obtained by Agence France-Presse purports to show the leader of the group. Last month, Cameroonian authorities released a grainy photograph that they claimed showed Abubakar Shekau, leader of the Nigerian group Boko Haram, lying dead from a gunshot wound.
