a L.A. Gear relaunches kids' light-up shoe line

L.A. Gear pioneered light-up sneakers for kids back in the early 1990s before sales faded years later, but the relaunched footwear company is now bringing the line back. The company said it will kick off two styles, dubbed the Liquid Gold L.A. Lights and Liquid Berry L.A. Lights, that will hit shelves Aug. 14 at select Shiekh Shoes locations and Los Angeles-based L.A. Gear was founded in 1979 by Robert Greenberg , who later found Skechers USA Inc. , and is currently owned by ACI International .
