"Crop Insurance-the Corporate Connection" is the first in a series of three LSP white papers analyzing the impacts of federally subsidized crop insurance. Launched in 1938 to provide a safety net for farmers facing severe weather catastrophes, crop insurance has in recent years become a tax-funded profit generator for some of the largest corporations in the country.
