Eleven major companies have now agreed to phase out microbeads from face scrub cosmetic products since Fairfax Media first reported on the campaign by environmental activist Jon Dee more than a year ago. Mr Dee said that two more major companies, Johnson & Johnson and Metcash, owners of IGA supermarkets, had this week agreed to support the scheme.

Reliance Jio, RCom agree to share 800 MHz spectrum

(Telecompaper) Indian operators Reliance Jio Infocomm and Reliance Communications (RCom) have signed agreements to share spectrum in the 800 MHz band across 17 circles. Under the deal, RCom will transfer its 800 MHz band spectrum in nine circles to Jio. Access to the enhanced spectrum footprint in the 800 MHz band will support their LTE services roll-out. The spectrum sharing agreement between Reliance Jio and RCom will result in network synergies, enhanced network capacity and spectrum optimization leading to capex efficiencies, the two companies said. Also as part of the deal, Reliance Jio and RCom plan to enter mutual Intra Circle Roaming arrangements.

OPB: Oregon utilities have agreed to support a bill that would phase out coal-fired power in Oregon by 2030. The agreement follows negotiations with the backers of a proposed ballot measure that set the same target for eliminating coal from the state`s electrical supply. The proposed legislation would only affect Pacific Power and Portland General Electric, which together serve about 70 percent of Oregon`s electricity.
