Calves and yearlings traded mostly steady to $5 higher at auction, according to the Agricultural marketing Service (AMS). The full market advance was most evident for middleweight cattle weighing 500-700 pounds. Competition for these cattle has increased with cattle and grass interests becoming more prevalent. Although cash fed cattle trade was limited to Nebraska and Iowa-Minnesota through Friday afternoon, dressed prices were $4-$5 more than the previous week at $210 per cwt. Oak Creek police report: Feb. 4, 2016 issue

A man shoplifted about $175 in assorted candy bars by stuffing them inside his pants at 7-Eleven, 1225 W. Rawson Ave., and then fled in a gray Volkswagen at about 9:05 a.m. Jan. 28. Police identified the suspect and took him into custody at his Oak Creek residence later that day. A man shoplifted $157 worth of energy drinks at Woodman's, 8131 S. Howell Ave., and walked out of the store through an emergency door at 11 p.m. Jan. 28. The suspect fled the lot in a blue, four-door hatchback that was waiting for him.
