Televisa sells rest of Iusacell to Salinas Group

(Telecompaper) Mexico's Salinas Group has purchased a 50 percent stake in mobile operator Iusacell from broadcasting group Televisa. As a result of the USD 717 million deal, Salinas Group will now fully own the country's third-largest mobile operator. Salinas Group said it is in the process of selecting an international partner to help boost Iusacell's growth. In a statement to the Mexican stock exchange, Televisa said it will make a book loss of around USD 320 million on the sale. The transaction is subject to approval by regulators. Iusacell has around 8 million customers.
