Helsinki, Finland, 2014-10-09 09:00 CEST -- STORA ENSO OYJ STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 9 October 2014 at 10.00 EET As earlier communicated, Stora Enso signed an agreement in May 2014 to divest its Uetersen specialty and coated fine paper mill in Germany to Brigl & Bergmeister, an Austrian specialty paper producer. Stora Enso recorded a negative non-recurring item of approximately EUR 34 million related to the planned disposal in the second quarter 2014 operating profit.

Virginia regulator approves Pepco merger with Exelon

Virginia regulators have approved Exelon's $6.8 billion acquisition of Pepco, the first of several regulatory hurdles it needs to clear. Pepco Holdings Inc. is one step closer to its $6.8 billion merger with Chicago-based Exelon Corporation, winning approval from the Virginia State Corporation Commission.

Yara says finance chief to lead merger talks after CEO fired

Norwegian fertilizser maker Yara International has fired Chief Executive Joergen Ole Haslestad, saying he was unsuitable to lead merger talks with Chicago-based CF Industries, which would continue under its finance chief. Yara and CF said last month they were in early-stage talks about a "merger of equals" that would create a $27 billion rival to world number one fertilizer producer Potash Corp. Details of any deal have not been revealed.
