Each program includes a story, real specimens, hands-on learning activities, and ways for students to connect to the nature in their community. At 1 p.m., students will discover the world of "Rambling Raccoons" and will be led on their own nocturnal adventure. At 2 p.m., "Wise Owls" will teach students about what makes an owl different from other birds and where to look for owls in the dark. These programs are produced by Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District.

03.29: Scott Nadelson & Jay Ponteri
2013-02-09 01:36:50| Powells Books Events Calendar
The Next Scott Nadelson: A Life in Progress (Hawthorne Books), a new book by Oregon Book Award-winner Scott Nadelson, is a literary self-portrait that revolves around the dissolution of a relationship but encompasses the long process of a young man's halting self-discovery. Married writer Jay Ponteri finds himself infatuated with a woman other than his wife and writes a manuscript to explore his feelings. Wedlocked (Hawthorne Books) offers readers an intimate, idiosyncratic view of a human institution that can so often fail, leaving its inhabitants lonely and adrift.
