The Dallas-based airline will add a total of 27 daily flights with these new destinations. This comes just three weeks after Southwest launched service to seven new destinations on Oct. 13. However, also on Sunday, Southwest will cut 18 flights to nine cities in Wright amendment states.

Southwest Airlines today announced the distribution of products made in Kenya and the U.S. as part of its global upcycling initiative LUV Seat: Repurpose with Purpose. The distribution in Kenya completes the second phase of the multi-year environmental program, which will upcycle approximately 80,000 former airline seat coverings into new leather products to provide valuable training and jobs in several communities in addition to keeping these materials out of a landfill.

Five years ago this week, on Nov. 1, 2009, Southwest Airlines landed with great fanfare at Mitchell International Airport - an arrival that, as it turned out, would become the centerpiece of a transformation in air service in Milwaukee. Southwest claimed just under 9% of the airport's market share that first month, in a market dominated at the time by homegrown Midwest Airlines.
