Heavy rains caused Portland's combined sewer system to overflow to the Willamette River on Wednesday, September 20 from a SE Portland pump station that is slated to be improved and expanded. Overflows occurred at 4:15 a.m., 2:33 p.m., and 3:01 p.m. to the Willamette River from the SE Alder Street Pump Station at SE Alder Street and Water Avenue. https://goo.gl/maps/kmdmYw57pD22.

CSO Advisory: Four-minute combined sewer overflow (CSO) occurs to Willamette River from pump station slated for upgrades

A combination of stormwater from heavy rains and sewage overflowed to the Willamette River for four minutes early this morning from a SE Portland pump station that is slated to be improved and expanded.

Fanno Pressure Sewer Improvement Project Construction Update: September 20, 2017

The Fanno Pressure Sewer Improvement Project has replaced nine of the 19 maintenance access structures planned for replacement in nine locations in the Garden Home are. The project has also installed a pressure monitoring and recording system station near SW Railroad Street. These upgrades will ensure that the Fanno Basin Sewer System will continue to handle all wastewater flows year-round and provide better monitoring of the entire sewer system in the area.

Slabtown Sewer Replacement Project Update: September 19, 2017

Environmental Services will construct a sewer replacement project in the Slabtown district in northwest Portland. This project will replace and upsize about 8,400 feet (more than 1 and a half miles) of sewer main in streets, some of which are more than 125 years old and deteriorating due to age. They will repair pipes that connect properties to the sewer system, replace stormwater inlets and inlet pipes, and repair or replace more than 46 manholes throughout the project area.
