Lower Powell Green Street and Sewer Repair Project Update: March 8, 2016

Environmental Services will begin construction this month on a project to replace and repair 4,508 feet of aging sewer pipe. The work will include constructing 22 green street planters and planting trees to absorb rain and reduce stormwater runoff. The project will keep about 1.6 million gallons of stormwater out of sewers annually, increase sewer system capacity and reduce basement backups.

Eastmoreland Sewer Repair Update: February 19, 2016

Southeast Interceptor Sewer Repair Project: Design update

Environmental Services is designing a project in inner southeast Portland to repair a deep interceptor sewer line that is deteriorating due to age. The project will extend the life of the sewer and protect public health, water quality and the environment. The city built the large-diameter Southeast Interceptor in 1954. It runs parallel to the Willamette River under inner southeast neighborhoods at depths ranging from 30 to 54 feet.
