BlackBerry adds timed, retracted messages to BBM

(Telecompaper) BlackBerry has released a preview of two new premium functions coming to Blackberry Messenger in its next release. These are a timer, to control how long messages and pictures shared with contacts can be viewed within BBM, and the ability to retract a sent message. The timer function works through an icon next to the text bar. Senders are also notified if the recipient takes a screen shot of a timed message. The retraction feature works only with message to start, not pictures, and is only available in one-to-one chats. The new features are currently in testing in a limited beta for users on Android and BlackBerry 10. Timer and Retract will be available in the 2.5 release of BBM for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry 10, "coming very, very soon", BlackBery said.
