NEMA announced that ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C78 reaffirmed C78.1430 Slide Projector Lamps, Condensing, Dichroic, 1.65-in. (42 mm), Integral Reflector, Rim Reference Tungsten-Halogen Lamps with GX5.3 Bases. Standard defines dimensional limits and other physical characteristics required to ensure commonality and interchangeability and to assist in proper application of projection lamps.

ANSI will exhibit at 2016 USA Science & Engineering Festival, taking place in Washington, D.C. from April 15–17, to further inspire and educate future generations of STEM and standardization professionals about standards' significance. With its "Standards Are Everywhere" theme, exhibit will demonstrate how standards help support nearly everything kids take part in and rely on from day to day. Showcase will feature interactive elements with hands-on examples.

ANSI International Workshop focuses on next generation toilets.

International Workshop Agreement (IWA) workshop on sustainable non-sewered sanitation systems will take place June 28–30, 2016 in Singapore. Being held by ANSI, this IWA is intended to support development of international standard to ensure safety aspects of next generation toilets. International standard, applicable to individual and community sanitation systems, would also ensure treated discharged products pose no user, operator health, or environment risks.

ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C136 revised ANSI C136.2-2015 Dielectric Withstand and Electrical Transient Immunity Requirements, which contains minimum performance requirements and test procedures for evaluating luminaire and control devices under test. Revisions include product family language inclusion, dielectric withstand test with hipot tester use, coupler/decoupler network language in transient immunity test, as well as additional ring wave and combination wave test specifications.
